The breakfast offerings, including the popular sausage and egg butties, consistently draw compliments for their flavor and generous portions. The friendly, attentive staff create a welcoming environment, enhancing every visit with their personal touches. Many diners enjoy the spacious outdoor seating area, perfect for soaking up the sun while indulging in a homemade scone with jam and cream. Overall, the local community appreciates not only the delicious food but also the heartwarming service that keeps them coming back.

Most Disliked

Some guests have mentioned that Driftwood Cafe can get quite busy, especially during peak times, which may lead to longer wait times for food and seating. While this bustling atmosphere adds to the cafe's charm, it can be frustrating if you're short on time. A few reviews noted that parking might be challenging during busy weekends, urging visitors to consider alternative transportation or arrive early. Others expressed concerns about the limited indoor space, as it can feel cramped when the cafe is at full capacity. It's wise to book ahead, especially for lunch or brunch, to avoid potential disappointment.

This is how it’s done! The cafe has been there ten years which is plenty of time to perfect things - and boy have they! From the warm greeting when you arrive (they seem to know all of their regulars by name) to the great food - it’s all spot on. Service is quick but still personal. The food is, of course, the main event. It’s a decent menu but what’s on there is just superb quality - for example, the cheese is clearly very mature (not cheap) and plenty of it; no corners are cut. Dog friendly.

Called here yesterday and we were so impressed. When we looked inside the tables were either occupied or reserved but we were offered a table in the courtyard at the back. Was a very hot day but we were under big parasols so it was lovely. Our order was taken promptly even though they were very busy and the food was delicious. We had the small fish and chips which was just a nice size for us. The staff were all absolutely lovely and we will definitely be back. Read on another review that you can sit outside when it's cold and they bring blankets, definitely doing that!

One of our favourite places for a substantial snack / lunch: real home-made chips, good portions of everything served promptly. Fresh eggs and amazingly good home made milkshakes 😋 Bit worried about being too enthusiastic as it's only a small space and we might not get a table if it gets too popular!

Had a wonderful, freshly cooked breakfast on a piping hot plate, with lovely fresh tea, served in a proper Delph tea pot . I visited on a Sunday morning just off a flight from Dublin, and it was a lovely old school type of English cafe with very good friendly efficient staff,,, well done Driftwood cafe,, this will be a place I will definitely visit again soon.

I had gone for a long walk before stopping here for a bite to eat. It was quite busy at the time, but I was able to get a table and I was served quickly. I went for the Welsh rarebit and an Oreo milkshake with cream, and it was bloody lovely. Would come here again at some point.
